Real Madrid’s Spain international Xabi Alonso (pictured) returned in the top 8 of the FTBL world ranking of midfielders after the Merengues’ 2:0 win over Getafe in La Liga last Saturday.

For playing the entire game without substitution, the former Liverpool man earned 13.5 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his tally to 121.74 points and climb to #8 in the world ranking of midfielders.

Alonso is also now in 3rd position in our ranking of Spanish midfielders, behind Barcelona’s Xavi (154.65 points) and Arsenal skipper Cesc Fàbregas (144.01 points). He is now #1 among midfielders at the Bernabeu.
