Arsenal’s Cesc Fàbregas (pictured left) replaced Barcelona’s Xavi as the No 1 Spanish midfielder in the FTBL ranking as the Gunners clobbered AZ Alkmaar 4:1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League yesterday, while the Catalans were unable to break Russian champions Rubin Kazan (0:0).
Fàbregas scored two of the Gunners’ four, to boost his overall FTBL rating to 150.21 points, while Xavi was toothless against the Russians. He dropped 7.91 rating points in our system to see his overall number shrink to 143.84 points.
Fàbregas has also claimed the 3rd spot in our world ranking, pushing down Xavi to 4th place.
