Chelsea’s Frank Lampard (pictured) is once again the player with the highest score in the world in the FTBL ranking (211.71 points) following the Blues’ 1:0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League yesterday, while Petr Cech has re-captured the top spot in our ranking of goalkeepers with a tally of 132.32 points.
Lampard earned approximately 14 rating points in the FTBL system and now has a tally higher than that of any striker, let alone midfielder. But the England international may have to pull back soon, given he faces a combined plank of approximately 90 rating points to beat in his next 3 games alone! Cech earned 15.50 rating points.
Chelsea players now top the rankings in 3 of our top 4 categories: John Terry tops the world ranking of defenders with 143.64 points, Lampard tops our ranking of midfielders, while Cech leads in the ranking of goalkeepers. Only the top spot in our world ranking of forwards still eludes Carlo Ancelotti’s men: the top spot in that category remains in the hands of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo (205.03 points).
