Africa’s two best strikers at the moment, Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o (pictured left) and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba (right), will battle it out for the top spot in the FTBL ranking as they lead their respective national squads in World Cup 2010 qualifiers this coming weekend.
If Eto’o tops the ranking at the moment with a score of 193.11 points, Drogba is not far behind with 191.69 points. Eto’o will lead Cameroon against solid Morocco before their home crowd. To retain the top spot in the ranking, Eto’o will have to pick up at least 13 rating points in the game.
In the meantime, Drogba will be leading Cote d’Ivoire at home against a weak Guinea. If he scores, as he so often does, he will overtake Eto’o to become the #1 African striker in the FTBL ranking.
