Wolfsburg’s Nigeria international Obafemi Martins (pictured left) netted a brace to help Nigeria narrowly defeat Kenya (3:2) last Saturday and secure qualification for the next World Cup in South Africa, boosting in the process his FTBL ranking.
The former Inter Milan forward earned 16.87 points in the FTBL system to boost his tally to 93.64 points. He is now 107th in our world ranking of forwards but has managed to reduce the gap with Hoffenheim’s Chinedu Obasi, the current No 1 in our ranking of Nigerian forwards with a tally of 110.29 points.
Martins can even grab the lead in the ranking very soon if he can extend his current goal-scoring run to next weekend.
