As Uruguay won the duel against Costa Rica for a berth to the World Cup in South Africa, their goalkeeper Fernando Muslera (picture) was able to reduce the gap with Argentine international Albano Bizzarri, his teammate, in the FTBL ranking of goalkeepers at Italian side Lazio.

Muslera produced a strong performance in the 1:1 draw with Costa Rica (video) to boost his overall FTBL score to 43.22 points.
 

Of the 4 goalkeepers at Lazio, Muslera is now 2nd only to Bizzarri (46.17 points). Lazio are still wrestling with the issue of determining their No1 keeper, and Muslera could bolster his case with more strong performances in coming Serie A games.
