Chelsea’s Drogba a Few Points from Becoming World's Top Player in FTBL Ranking

Chelsea’s Cote d’Ivoire star Didier Drogba is poised to become the # 1 player in the world (irrespective of position) in the FTBL World Top 23 as the Blues prepare to take on second-from-the-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.

Drogba, who has an FTBL score of 191.69 points at the moment, will go into the game with a plank of under 10 rating points to beat. Drogba’s main rivals are Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, the best forward in the world at the moment with a score of 2020.66 points, and teammate Frank Lampard (211.11 points).

Since Ronaldo continues to nurture an injury, his only chance to capture the lead is if Chelsea lose to the Wolves.

Lampard, on the other hand, the current leader in the World Top 23, will go into Saturday’s game with a daunting plank of 25 rating points to beat. He set the plank in the Blues’s 4:0 trashing of Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, in which he scored a goal.

If Lampard fails to beat his high plank on Saturday, he is likely to lose the top spot in the World Top 23 to Drogba in case Chelsea win. But if Chelsea lose, then the leadership is sure to revert to Ronaldo.
