Werder Bremen’s Germany international Mesut Özil (pictured) broke into the FTBL World Top 23, our list of the world’s top 23 players, after contributing a goal in his side’s 6:0 clobbering of newly promoted SC Freiburg yesterday in the Bundesliga.
Özil scored the fourth for Bremen in the 67th minute, picking up 24.68 rating points in our system to boost his overall score to 137.12 points. He is now 7th in the FTBL world ranking of midfielders. The Germany international has pocketed more than 120 rating points in the FTBL system since the beginning of the current season!
Özil is now in the company of Chelsea star Michael Ballack (144.67 points) in the top tier of our world ranking of midfielders.
