CSKA Moscow’s Czech forward Tomáš Necid captured the #2 spot in the FTBL ranking of strikers in the Russian Premier League after a brace in his side’s 3:2 win over # 2 Spartak Moscow.

Necid’s double earned him more than 25 rating points in the FTBL system, boosting his overall score to 88.02 points. He is now second only to Spartak’s Brazilian Welliton (94.91 points) in the ranking.

Necid was helped by Spartak goalkeeper Soslan Dzhanaev (pictured in a yellow jersey) with a series of unbelievable blunders. His FTBL score has dropped as a consequence to less than 30 point, though he had more than 50 points in early November.

Necid could attempt to overtake Welliton in the Champions League game against Germany’s Wolfsburg: his plank to beat in that game will amount to just 0.81 points. He is likely to grab the lead in the ranking, bar a CSKA defeat.
