Werder Bremen’s Germany international Per Mertesacker (pictured in a green shirt) returned to the top of the FTBL ranking of defenders in the German Bundesliga after helping his side to a 6:0 demolition of FC Freiburg in league action last Saturday.
Mertesacker’s FTBL score has not fallen below the 90-point mark in the past 3 months, remaining in the neighborhood of 100 points. He picked up 14.6 rating points in our system in the trashing of Freiburg, to boost his tally to 101.96 points.
Mertesacker is now ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s young Serbian talent Neven Subotic (94.88 points) and Bayern Munich’s Germany international Philipp Lahm (94.05 points) in the Bundesliga rankings.
