In the Italian Serie A, AC Milan continued their revival yesterday with a 3:0 home win over No. 5 Sampdoria, while leaders Inter Milan fell to Juventus 2:1. Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf scored one of the Rossoneri’s goals to add 16.10 rating points to his overall score and set sight on the top spot in two different charts.
Seedorf is now 2nd in our rankings of Dutch and Serie A midfielders with a tally of 115.13 points, just a sliver from # 1 Wesley Sneijder of Inter Milan (115.45 points).
The Champions League group stage games against FC Zurich and Russia’s Rubin Kazan will be crucial rating-wise in the near term: Seedorf seems in better position, given he will go into the game against Zurich with a plank of less than 12 rating points to beat in our system, while Sneijder will face a higher plank of more than 18 rating points against the Russians. But it is worth remembering that the Swiss won the first encounter against Milan at the San Siro (1:0).
