Despite clear signs of a gradual return to his usual form, Manchester United’s England international Wayne Rooney clearly remains far from his best. After 3 straight wins, the Red Devils fell again to Aston Villa in the Premier League last Saturday and Rooney, as a consequence, dropped rating points.
Though the loss was small, it nonetheless had serious consequences in the rankings; Rooney slid from 2nd to 4th place in the FTBL world ranking of forwards. In addition, the 200-ppoint mark moved even farther off; he now needs 11.23 rating points to reach it.
Rooney could use the coming game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in which his plank to beat will be negative; a result of the loss to Chelsea. A minimum win for United will be enough to power Rooney to the 200-point mark.
