Striker Mario Gómez (right) extended his goal-scoring run to 5 games by adding one as Bayern Munich ripped apart beleaguered Hertha Berlin 5:2 in the German Bundesliga yesterday. He picked up approximately 25 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his tally to 222.25 points.
Gómez is now 2nd in the FTBL world ranking of strikers and could even grab the top spot after Sunday’s games; David Villa, the current leader in the world ranking of strikers with 231.03 points, will face a high plank of 22.40 rating points to beat when Valencia take on Deportivo La Coruña today in La Liga. If he trips, that would open the way for the German.
However, Gómez the will now have to “defend” his recent successes in his next 5 games, in which he will face a combined plank of 130 points to beat.
Meanwhile, Croatian international Ivica Olic (left) also put his name on the score sheet yesterday against Hertha (77th minute). It was his 3rd productive match in a row, and he remains firmly in 6th place in the world ranking with 187.38 points.
