The former No. 1 in the FTBL world ranking of defender, Chelsea’s England international John Terry, is at the moment not even in the World Top 23, our list of the world’s top 23 players. In the English Premier League, Terry has dropped to 6th place in the ranking of defenders. Nonetheless, the Chelsea skipper now has opening before him an excellent opportunity to regain lost ground.
In their last 5 games, the Blues have conceded 9 goals and won just once. This has been the main reason behind Terry’s retreat. On the other hand, that now means that he will face lower planks to beat in the next several games: just 18.98 rating points in the next five games or so. Just a single goalless win will yield him 14.6 points in our system, which means if things go well, the England international could return to 125-130 points.
Even if the team continues to stutter, Terry will still progress: even a draw in the next game against Birmingham City will still lift his score beyond 110 points. The “crisis” at Stamford Bridge should be a thing of the past pretty soon, and Terry’s return is now just a matter of when, rather than if.
