Liverpool superstar Steven Gerrard could end the year out of the FTBL Top 23 of the English Premier League (our list of the top 23 players in England’s top league) if the Reds fail to perform better than they have so far in the last two games of the year.
Gerrard will need to pick up just 5 points in the FTBL system against Wolverhampton Wanderers and in-form Aston Villa. As an illustration of the bad form that has plagued coach Raphael Benitez’s men, it is enough to mention that Gerrard dropped an astounding 17 rating points in the recent 0:2 loss to bottom-placed Portsmouth. Yet just not long ego, he sat at the top of the FTBL world ranking of midfielders.
If the England international is able to redress the bar somewhat by yearend, he could even return in the Top 23 of the EPL.
Gerrard is currently 41st in our world ranking of midfielders with a score of 98.81 points.
