Chelsea’s Germany international Michael Ballack has been in a freefall in the FTBL ranking since late September, dropping 65 points in 3 months. His last goal dates back to approximately that time as well, against Tottenham Hotspur in a 3:0 win. Now Ballack has an opportunity to end the year in a positive note in our ranking.
Ballack’s plank to beat in the last 2 games of the year in the English Premier League is a paltry 5 + points, and if he scores at least once, a place in the World Top 23 will be practically a done deal; provided, of course, Chelsea win against No. 7 Birmingham City and No. 9 Fulham. In the meantime, the Germany international’s score remains around 100 points, and he rounds off the top 8 in our ranking of midfielders in the EPL.
Can Ballack fail? That remains a possibility, especially considering what Fulham did just recently to No. 2 Manchester United (3:0).
