Valencia’s Mata Captures Lead in FTBL Ranking of U-21 Strikers

Young Argentina international Sergio Agüero incurred a huge loss in the FTBL system after second division side Celta Vigo stunned Atlético Madrid in the Copa Del Rey by achieving a 1:1 draw. This has allowed Valencia’s Mata (left) to claim the top spot in the FTBL world ranking of U-21 forwards with a score of 150.45 points, a development we warned about.

Agüero lost 21.35 points to see his overall FTBL score shrink to 143.11 points.

Mata added 14 points in the 4:1 win over Villarreal. In the next 2 games he will face a combined plank of approximately 15 points to beat in our system, which suggests he should be able to retain the top spot in the ranking.

Another Valencia forward, David Villa, is currently the best striker in the world in the FTBL system with a score of 219.32 points.
