Algeria edged past Cote d’Ivoire (3:2) to qualify for the semi-finals in the African Nations Cup yesterday, with most players adding to their FTBL scores. Borussia Monchengladbach forward Karim Matmour, who scored the first goal, added 19.27 points. He remains the highest ranked Algerian player in the FTBL system, with an overall score of 89.23 points.
Rangers F.C. defender Madjid Bougherra, who leveled the score for Algeria in the dying minutes, added 10.89 points. The 2 goals conceded ate into the bonuses of Algerian defenders. Bougherra is now the best Algerian defender, with 65.04 points.
Striker Hameur Bouazza, who plays for English second division side Blackpool F.C., scored the winner in injury time, more than doubling his overall score. He now has 27.06 points and is 5th in our ranking of Algerian forwards.
