EPL: Chelsea Down Burnley; Anelka Turns Up Pressure on Rooney in World Ranking of Strikers

French international Nicolas Anelka (left) was on target yesterday as Chelsea defeated Burnley at Turf Moor 2:1 to claim the 2nd spot in the FTBL world ranking of strikers with 228.12 points and turn up the pressure on the current No. 1, Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

Anelka grabbed the opener in the 27th, adding approximately 20 points in the FTBL system. He has now reduced the gap with Rooney to a little over 20 points. The England international will be in action tonight when United take on No. 3 Arsenal in what promises to be a fiercely-fought encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

Rooney, who has an overall score of 251.26 points at the moment, will face a plank of 23.90 points to beat tonight. He will have to score to avoid dropping points in our system.
