Bayern Munich’s Miroslav Klose (pictured), after displaying tremendous mettle in the last few games, has put Christiano Ronaldo’s lead in the Top-23 World Best Football Players at risk. The gap between the German and Portuguese is now less than one point.
Ronaldo, who has been at the top of the FTBL rating for almost a year now, has 219.14 points. Klose, thanks to Bayern Munich’s fairy tale victory over Sporting Lisbon, earned 39.08 point in that game and is now at 218.61 points!
A lot will be decided for Christiano Ronaldo in this evening’s match against Inter Milan in Champions League action. He will have to earn no less than 13.00 points to stay atop, and if he scores and Man United win, he will have achieved that goal. If, on the contrary, Ronaldo fails to score and Man United lose, then the Portuguese international will lose his top spot.
Klose will have to try hard to repeat his good showing. His upper limit will be 31.20 points, but given how many goals the Bavarian have scored in the last games, this will be a difficult, but not impossible feat. Manager Jurgen Klinsmann’s team have scored 14 goals in the last three games, with Klose distinguishing himself in each one of them. The game against Bochum on March 14 will be decisive for the German international.
