Last weekend Manchester United were all but toppled as leaders of the English Premiership, but help came from an unexpected source – 17-year-old Federico Macheda (pictured), who was making his debut for the club, scored in the last minute of the match against Aston Villa to bring United a vital three points.
In this match, which finished 3-2 in Manchester United’s favour, the young Italian striker gained 19.97 points. At the moment those are all the points he has, but his important goal has enabled United to remain in first place.
Two goals were scored in the game by Cristiano Ronaldo, who has improved his rating for the first time in quite a while. Ronaldo is a little short of 200 points – he has 199.11.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s rivals were losing no time in trying to make up ground. Goals by Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda gave Chelsea a 2-0 win over Newcastle. As a result of this match, Lampard returned to the Top 23 with 150.71 points.
Arsenal beat Manchester City by the same score. Both the Gunners’ goals were scored by Emmanuel Adebayor, back in the team after a long absence due to injury, and he gained 27.38 points as a result. Adebayor now has a total of 152.94 points.
And Liverpool, United’s main rivals, ground out a 1-0 win at Fulham, also scoring in added time. The winning goal was scored by Yossi Benayoun, who has crept closer to the 100-point mark as a result. His current rating is 97.93 points.
