When Claudio Pizarro played with FC Bayern Munchen, the club fined him 25,000 euros on one occasion for drunk-driving. As the team was facing a hard trip to Italy to play Internazionale in a Champions League match, Bayern manager Uli Hoeness promised he would reduce Pizarro's fine if the forward scored at least one goal. They made a deal - one scored goal would mean a cut of 10,000 euros. Pizarro did score a goal in the 81st minute of the match, but was immediately replaced because Hoeness feared that further possible success on the part of the forward would nullify the effect of the fine.
