a

Absolute Rating

One of the key elements of Dream FTBL games. The absolute rating is the rating of the absolute team in the Game System Database.

Absolute Team

Team in the Game System Database consisting of the 23 active players with the best ratings in their respective positions. The team includes the 3 best goalkeepers, the 6 best defenders, the 8 best midfielders and the 6 best strikers. The team’s rating is the sum of the ratings of the players in the team. The rating of the best team is the absolute rating.

Active Player

Specific classification of a player in Dream FTBL games. A player is considered to be active if his real prototype played in the last match in one of the 23 real championships included in the Game System, and did not receive any penalty sanctions.

Active Sectors

The black and red sectors of the Dream FTBL roulette wheel. When the ball lands in the active sectors in mini-times, it signifies goal events in virtual matches in FTBL Standard tournaments. The black sectors relate to the home team, the red sectors to the away team.

All-star Team

Team consisting of the First XI and Second XI players who have won this nomination by the conferment of individual and team awards in Dream FTBL games.

Any Team

Dream FTBL tournaments that teams of any type can enter.

Award Points

Credited to virtual players and teams for the receipt of individual and team awards in Dream FTBL tournaments.
Full details in the Rules under "Award Points in FTBL Standard", "Award Points in FTBL Roulette".

Best Defender Award

Individual award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the defender who gains most points in defence events during a tournament, taking into account coefficients of beauty. Players who win this award receive award points.

Best Goal Difference Award

Team award in FTBL Roulette tournaments, awarded to the team with the best goal difference at the end of a tournament. Teams that win this award receive award points.

Best Goalkeeper Award

Individual award in Dream FTBL games, awarded to the best goalkeeper in a tournament according to the specifics of each Dream FTBL game. Players who win this award receive award points.

Best Midfielder Award

Individual award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the midfielder who gains most points in attack and defence plays during a tournament, taking into account coefficients of beauty. Players who win this award receive award points.

Best Player Award (Overall)

Individual award in Dream FTBL tournaments, awarded to the best player in a tournament according to the specifics of each Dream FTBL game. Players who win this award receive award points.

Best Scoring Defender Award

Individual award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the defender who scores most goals during a tournament. Players who win this award receive award points.

BetEx

A bet on a player’s rating. Users can propose the terms of the bet for other users. The essence of the bet is that a particular player (or group of players) will, by a specified date, have a rating higher (or lower) than that fixed by the participants in the bet.

Big Score Award

Team award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the team that records the greatest number of wins by 3 or more goals. Teams that win this award receive award points.

Blocked Player

Specific classification of a player in Dream FTBL games. A virtual player becomes blocked in the Game System an hour before the start of a match that is likely to feature his real prototype, and until the moment the report of that match is included in the Game System. The blocked player is then unblocked (with a change in his rating), and becomes active or disabled.

BSC

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for Basic teams and Basic tournaments.

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for the team captain.

Captain Sector

Special sector on the Dream FTBL roulette wheel. If the ball lands in the “Captain” sector in FTBL Standard matches, an extra mini-time is played. The result of the extra mini-time is either a goal for the home team or a goal for the away team, since at this time all the sectors of the roulette wheel become active and are changed to black and red. In FTBL Roulette matches the “Captain” sector fulfils the same function as the remaining sectors of the roulette wheel.

Champ Cup

International club tournaments played in FTBL Roulette on the group system (group stage and knockout stage) with Basic and Real Based teams. Teams must have finished in a sufficiently high position in virtual championships and must have the necessary rating.

Coefficient for Converting Points

Used for the conversion of tournament points into compensation points, which are used to increase income in Play Money from the sale of players.

Coefficient of Beauty (Wow index)

Parameter used in determining winners in the nominations for Best Player, All-Star Team and Most Beautiful Goal in FTBL Standard games, and the nominations for People's Choice award, Best Defender, Best Scoring Defender and Best Midfielder in FTBL Standard games.

Compensation Points

Compensation points are tournament points multiplied by a conversion coefficient. They are used only for increasing income in Play Money when selling players, and cannot be converted into points or currency.

Defence Event

Virtual event in FTBL Standard matches, when during a mini-time the ball lands in the passive sectors of the roulette wheel: the green sector denotes that the away team has attacked, but has not scored – the home team has defended; the blue sector denotes that the home team has attacked, but not scored – the away team has defended.

DF

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for “defender”.

Disabled Player

Specific classification of a player in Dream FTBL games. A disabled player is one whose real prototype, for whatever reason, missed the last match in one of the 23 real championships included in the Game System, or took part in the match but received penalty sanctions.

Dream FTBL Games

There are two types of Dream FTBL game in the Game System, differing in the variety of tournaments available and the method of playing virtual matches: FTBL Standard and FTBL Roulette.

Dream FTBL Roulette Wheel

The Dream FTBL roulette wheel is the generator of virtual events in Dream FTBL matches.

First XI

A team consisting of the following players: the best No.1 (No.22) of all the Nos.1 and 22, the best No.2 (No.12) of all the Nos.2 and 12, and so on down to the best No.11 (No.21) of all the best Nos.11 and 21. The First XI can therefore include both first-choice and reserve players. The team is formed according to positions – 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 3 strikers. Together with the Second XI, the First XI players form the All-star Team. Players who achieve this distinction receive award points.

Friendly Matches (Friendlies)

Mini-tournaments for two teams in FTBL Roulette, consisting of only one match. Participants in Friendlies lay stakes, pay commission and receive winnings only in Real Money.

FT

Abbreviation used in the Dream FTBL Game System for “football team”.

FTBL Bets Competitions

A variety of competitions and bets for users on the outcome of various virtual championships. They include: Points Bets, Rating Contest and Rating Leagues.

FTBL Cup

International club tournaments played in FTBL Roulette on the group system (group stage and knockout stage) with Basic and Real Based teams. Teams must have finished in a sufficiently high position in virtual championships and must have the necessary rating.

FTBL Roulette

FTBL Roulette is a roulette tournament. The result of the virtual football match is determined by a series of stakes placed by users on the roulette table with an equal number of chips. Virtual tournaments played on cup and group systems (various types of national and international tournaments) are played in FTBL Roulette. The various types are: Friendlies (Friendly Matches), Multy Cups, League Cups, Champ Cup, FTBL Cup and World Cup. Stakes and winnings in FTBL Roulette tournaments can be in both Real Money and Play Money. Robot teams cannot take part in FTBL Roulette tournaments.

FTBL Standard

Virtual national championships including from 10 to 20 teams are played in FTBL Standard. There are three types of FTBL Standard tournament – Title, Progress and Mix, which differ in their aims and the types of stake – in Play Money, Real Money, or a combination of the two. Robot teams can take part in FTBL Standard tournaments to make up any shortfall in the number of users taking part in a tournament.

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for Fantasy teams and Fantasy tournaments.

FW

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for “forward”.

Game System Database

Located in the “My Teams” lobby and comprising all the players whose real prototypes play in the 23 real championships included in the Game System. Users purchase players in the Database (Regular players) for their teams and, if necessary, depending on the changes in their ratings, sell them back to the Database at a profit. The Game System offers users the possibility of introducing to the Database real or imaginary players that are not already included in it. These are Outlander, Fantasy and Retro players.

Giantkillers Award

Team award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the team that gains the greatest number of points in matches against the top three teams in a tournament. Teams that win this award receive award points.

GK

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for “goalkeeper”.

Goal Event

Virtual event in FTBL Standard matches, when during a mini-time the ball lands in the active sectors of the roulette wheel: the black sector denotes that the home team has scored a goal, the red sector – that the away team has scored. In FTBL Roulette the scoring of a goal is determined according to special rules.

Individual Awards

League Cups

National cup tournaments in FTBL Roulette, a particular instance of a Real Based Multy Cups tournament. Run on the Olympic system on a knockout basis. Only Real Based teams of the particular country can take part, not necessarily from the Premier League.

Main Roster

A virtual team’s squad of 23 players necessary for taking part in Dream FTBL games. The main roster must consist of: 3 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, 8 midfielders and 6 strikers.

Match-rating

Rating that a user can set for his team in a match against a robot team in FTBL Standard Title and Progress tournaments. A change in the match-rating, up to 90 % higher or lower, is valid for the next match against a robot team. Unless otherwise indicated, the Game System installs the team’s current rating for the match.

Maximum Rating

Rating given to a user’s team registering for a FTBL Standard Title tournament. The maximum rating depends on the category of championship selected.

MF

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for “midfielder”.

Mini-time

A mini-time is one spin of the Dream FTBL roulette wheel, leading to a virtual event in a Dream FTBL match. In FTBL Standard matches the number of mini-times can be varied by a user from 1 to 5. Unless otherwise indicated, the Game System fixes 3 mini-times per match. In FTBL Roulette matches 11 mini-times are played, each involving two spins of the roulette wheel.

Mix

One of the three types of FTBL Standard tournaments. Played along the lines of a traditional championship, in which all the teams play each other twice. Winnings are paid for victory in each specific match. Stakes and winnings in tournaments can be in both Real Money and Play Money. Robot teams may take part in Mix tournaments.

Most Beautiful Goal Award (Best Goal)

Individual award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the player who scores the goal with the greatest coefficient of beauty. Players who win this award receive award points.

Multy Cups

Mega-competitions in FTBL Roulette, played on the Olympic system on a knockout basis, for virtual teams of any type; from 8 to 16, 384 teams can take part. Only Real Based teams are admitted to Real Based Multy Cups tournaments.

National Championships

FTBL Standard tournaments played on the two-round system.

NATIONAL Team (NTL)

A National team is a virtual team whose main roster is made up of Regular or Outlander players of the same nationality.

National Teams Tournaments (NTL)

World Cup tournaments and all friendly matches in FTBL Roulette, in which virtual national teams take part.
Full details in the Rules under "Choosing a Dream FTBL Tournament".

Nickname

A name given by a user to a virtual team.

Passive Sectors

The green and blue sectors of the Dream FTBL roulette wheel. The ball falling into the passive sectors during the mini-times denotes defence events in virtual matches in FTBL Standard tournaments. The green sectors relate to the home team, the blue sectors to the away team. The total number of passive sectors on the roulette wheel depends on the virtual weather conditions for the match.

Penalty Sanctions

Applied to virtual players whose real prototypes receive: a red card in a match; two yellow cards in a match; a fourth yellow card. Virtual players whose real prototypes receive penalty sanctions become disabled.

People's Choice Award

Team award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the team that earns the highest number of points in a tournament, taking into account the coefficients of beauty of goals and defence plays. Teams that win this award receive award points.

Play Money

Play Money is one of the two currencies used in the Game System (the other is Real Money), used for buying and selling players, for paying the stakes and commissions in tournaments and receiving winnings, and also for placing on the Exchange. The basic unit of Play Money is 1 PM. In all transactions in Play Money the sums indicated are accurate down to 0.01 PM. Besides the amount of Play Money issued free of charge by the Game System on registration, a user can purchase Play Money with Real Money. Users can also sell their Play Money for Real Money on the Exchange.

Player FANTASY

An imaginary player (i.e. a player without a real prototype), introduced into the Game System Database by a user.
Full details in the Rules under "Types of Players".

Player OUTLANDER

A player who does not play for any of the clubs in the 23 real championships included in the Game System, but appears in the Database on account of his performances for clubs in other leagues or for his national team.

Player Popularity

Statistical parameter of a player in the Game System Database, reflecting the number of virtual teams that include the player.

Player REAL

Player REGULAR

A player who plays for one of the clubs in the 23 real championships included in the Game System.

Player RETRO

A player who has finished his career; Retro players are included in the Game System Database on application by a user.

Player’s Fan Club

One of the FTBL partnership programmes – an opportunity for every user to create a page on the  www.FTBL.com site devoted to a particular player on the Game System Database. The owner of a Player’s Leading Fan Club receives 5 % of the commission generated by teams in which that player is the star player.

Player’s Leading Fan Club

Status of a Player’s Fan Club, awarded to him by the Game System according to his popularity with users. The owner of a Player’s Leading Fan Club receives 5 % of the commission generated by the virtual teams in which that player is the star player.

PM

Abbreviation used in the Dream FTBL Game System for Play Money.

Points

The original unit of measurement used for Dream FTBL statistics, a numerical expression of the virtual events in matches in Dream FTBL tournaments. They are also used for taking part in Points Bets. There are distinctions between tournament, award and compensation points.

Points Bets

A version of FTBL Bets competitions. Users are offered a large amount of various bets that they can make between themselves on the number of points earned by players or teams in virtual tournaments in a specific period of time.

Progress

One of the three types of FTBL Standard tournaments.  Played along the lines of a traditional championship, in which all the teams play each other twice. The aim is for a team to finish the tournament in a higher position than that in which it started. Users’ teams enter Progress tournaments with their current ratings. Stakes and winnings in Progress tournaments are only in Play Money. Robot teams may take part in Progress tournaments.

Rating Contest

A version of FTBL Bets competitions between users who have teams with identical ratings. The participants aim to increase their teams’ ratings by buying and selling players, and the winner is the team with the highest rating at the end of a fixed period.

Rating FTBL

The most important system-forming element of Dream FTBL. Above all, FTBL ratings determine the cost of virtual players and the possibility for users’ virtual teams of taking part in a particular Dream FTBL tournament. The numerical expression of a virtual player’s rating corresponds to his cost in Play Money, and is equal to the rating of his real prototype; the ratings of real players are supplied by the FTBL Ratings agency. The rating of a virtual team is equal to the sum of the ratings of the virtual players in its main roster.

Rating Leagues

A version of FTBL Bets competitions – tournaments played according to the results of Rating Contest in the form of FTBL Standard championships. Users’ teams enter for Rating Leagues tournaments with the ratings they achieved in the Rating Contest.

RB

Real Based Name

The name of a virtual team in Dream FTBL games that coincides with the name of a real team registered in the Game System Database. To be classified as a Real Based team a virtual team must include not less than 11 players from its real prototype.

Real Championships

The 23 national championships – 20 in Europe, 3 in Latin America – included in the Game System. All the players who currently appear in these championships are included in the Game System Database.

Real Money

To date, Real Money is understood as a special prize currency, payable to the winners of the free online fantasy games powered by FTBL.com. Real Money prize currency can be withdrawn from this site special account, but can not be deposited there. All Real Money depositing operations will become possible in the future after obtaining an appropriate license and closing the beta testing period.
Real Money deposiring operations will be available to persons over 18 years only.

Relative Rating

Rating of a virtual team’s position in the tournament table in FTBL Standard  Title and Progress tournaments, expressed as a percentage of the absolute rating. Ratings of positions are fixed for each tournament.

RM

Abbreviation used in the Dream FTBL Game System for Real Money.

Robot Teams

Teams that take part in FTBL Standard tournaments, but are not controlled not by users, but are programmed by the Game System. Robot teams are formed automatically for tournaments to make up for any shortfall in users.

RTR

Abbreviation used in Dream FTBL games for Retro teams and Retro tournaments.

Schedule (Time)

One of the two categories of Dream FTBL tournaments, which differ in the way they start (the other is Sit & Go (Immediate)).
Schedule tournaments are those that start according to a schedule, at a previously determined time.

Second XI

A team formed in the same way as the First XI, but for the players who are second best for their respective numbers. The Second XI may therefore include both first-choice and reserve players. The team is formed according to positions: 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 3 strikers. Together with the First XI, the players in the Second XI form the All-star Team. Players who achieve this distinction receive award points.

Sit and Go (Immediate)

One of the two categories of Dream FTBL tournaments, which differ in the way they start (the other is Schedule (Time)).
Sit & Go tournaments are those that start as soon as the necessary number of participants has entered.

Star Player

Designation conferred by a user on one (and only one) player in his virtual team, registered in that player’s Fan Club; the team captain cannot be chosen as the star player. The points earned by a star player in Dream FTBL tournaments are doubled.

Team Awards

Awards in Dream FTBL games. Awarded in the nominations: People’s Choice Award, Turnaround Win Award, Giantkillers Award, Big Score Award, Best Goal Difference Award. Teams that win these awards receive award points.

Team BASIC (BSC)

A Basic team is a virtual team whose main roster consists of Regular players and not more than 6 players of other types (Outlander players – not more than 6, Fantasy players – not more than 3).

Team Captain (C)

Every virtual team in Dream FTBL games must have a captain. The captain is denoted in the team’s squad by the letter C. Unless a user decides otherwise, the Game System appoints the player with the highest rating as captain. Users can appoint team captains themselves. The captain cannot be the goalkeeper or the star player.

Team Design Studio

Lobby providing users with additional possibilities for using animation in Dream FTBL games. They can choose an emblem and strip for their teams, and even the character of their managers.

Team FANTASY (FTS)

A Fantasy team is a virtual team whose total roster includes more than 3 Fantasy players or more than 6 Outlander players.

Team REAL BASED (RB)

A Real Based team is a virtual team whose total roster includes not less than 11 players from the same club, and whose captain also plays for that club.

Team RETRO (RTR)

A Retro team is a virtual team whose main roster includes only Retro players from the same period, and in which not less than 11 players in the total roster, including the captain, played for one club.

Title

One of the three types of FTBL Standard tournaments. Played along the lines of a traditional championship, in which all the teams play each other twice. The aim is to win the tournament. Users’ teams enter for Title tournaments with equal ratings. Stakes and winnings in tournaments can be in both Real Money and Play Money. Robot teams may take part in Title tournaments.

Top Goalscorer Award

Individual award in Dream FTBL games, awarded to the player who scores most goals during a tournament. Players who win this award receive award points.

Total Roster

The total roster is a list of all the players in a user’s virtual team.
Full details in the Rules under "Total Roster. Main Roster".

Tournament Name

The name of a team in a national championship, under which a user enters his virtual team for FTBL Standard game.

Tournament Points

The points earned by a virtual player in each match for play leading to a goal, good defence play, and good play in general.

Tournaments BASIC (BSC)

A type of tournament in which all varieties of Dream FTBL games can be played (except the World Cup) with Basic and Real Based teams.

Tournaments CLASSIC

FTBL Roulette tournaments based on classic championships of years gone by. Users are provided with ready-made teams, formed in accordance with the real participants in these championships.

Tournaments FANTASY (FTS)

A type of Dream FTBL tournament in which teams of any type can take part, including the most fantastic teams invented by users themselves – Fantasy teams.

Tournaments REAL BASED (RB)

A type of tournament only for Real Based teams, in which all varieties of Dream FTBL games can be played.

Tournaments RETRO (RTR)

A type of Dream FTBL tournament only for Retro teams.
Full details in the Rules under "Choosing a Dream FTBL Tournament".

Tournaments WELCOME (WLC)

A type of FTBL Standard tournament for teams whose real prototypes do not play in one of the 23 real championships included in the Game System.

Turnaround Win Award

Team award in FTBL Standard tournaments, awarded to the team that records the greatest number of wins in matches which it was losing. Teams that win this award receive award points.

v

Virtual Event

Virtual events in Dream FTBL matches are divided into goal events (goals) and defence events (non-goal events). The character of virtual events depends on what type of sector on the roulette wheel the ball lands in during a mini-timeactive or passive.

Virtual Rating

The rating of a virtual player during his close season, calculated on the basis of virtual events in Dream FTBL matches.

Virtual Weather

A forecast of the possible virtual weather conditions for a forthcoming match can be viewed in the “Forecast” bookmark (“Game Field” Lobby).
